The Wharf Inn, San Francisco

The hotel seemed like a good deal at $160.00, but by the time we added up all the fees, our total came to $250.00, which felt like a bit of a scam. The rooms, while cheaper, were probably quieter elsewhere. They were dated with old carpet. The drapes didn't block out the light well at night, and the single-pane windows made for a noisy morning due to street traffic. The room had some concerning signs of wear and tear, including an extension cord running across the floor to power a lamp, lack of sound insulation, and tight parking spaces.

My stay at this hotel was a mixed experience. The rooms were clean, but it felt like a sauna at times. The service was nice and polite, but there seemed to be inefficiencies. The location was convenient, but it didn't fully live up to expectations. The dining experience was acceptable, but nothing extraordinary.

I chose this hotel because of its outstanding location near Fisherman's Wharf and easy access to the 'F' streetcar line. It was an ideal choice for a tourist trip, as it was conveniently close to everything we needed. While it had some highlights like being just a block away from The Wharf and a quick 5-minute walk from Alcatraz cruises, the only downside was the lack of other noteworthy features.
